No. You can book an appointment directly with one of our optometrists without having to visit a GP first.

Our consultation is a comprehensive one, so you should allow at least 40 minutes for your eye examination. The length of the examination varies, depending on what tests are required as each case is different. If further testing is necessary, an additional appointment will be scheduled.

Preferably yes. Appointments are necessary to ensure we are not making you wait unnecessarily. We do accept walk-ins, however, if we booked out, and although we will make our best efforts to help you, it is not always possible to fit you in. Due to the changes implemented by the Federal Government, on 1 January 2015, to the Medicare Rebates Fees Schedule, we are no longer able to fully bulk bill, and although it varies, you will generally be out of pocket $10 dollars. Click here for more information.

Absolutely. As a part of preventive health care, one eye examination at least every 2 years is recommended. You may not be aware of any problems with your eyes, since, some of these problems do not show obvious symptoms or signs; and sometimes these symptoms appear when it is too late to treat them or when the damaged caused is irreparable. Early detection is crucial in order to maintain a good vision and eye health.

An eye exam is necessary to determine your eyewear needs and we always prefer that one of our optometrists examine your eyes as this ensures a smooth complete overall experience from start to finish. An optometrist is a trained healthcare professional, who conducts eye examinations, prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses and also diagnose and manage some eye conditions and diseases that affect vision. An ophthalmologist is a physician who is specialized in the eye and vision care, and is licensed to practice ocular surgery. Optometrists and ophthalmologist work together to take care of the eyecare needs of patients and refer back and forth as needed.

It would be ideal to have routine check ups at 6 months, 2 years and before starting kinder or school at 4 or 5 years of age. In addition, every other time children present signs and symptoms such a light sensitivity, headaches, head turn or tilt, changes in grades at school (lower marks), squinting, sitting to close to the TV, closing one eye to see better, rubbing their eyes etc.

Depending on the type of frame, lens, coatings and materials that you require, your glasses can take anywhere between 5 up to 15 working days. We take great care in making sure your glasses pass our quality control, as we are committed to offer you the best possible service.

Yes, we accept all private health funds and can process your health insurance rebates in store via our HICAPS electronic claiming terminals.

We can do minor repairs, such as screw and nose pad replacements, tightening and adjusting of frames if they are not sitting properly on your face, all of which is done within minutes, as well as solder repairs and frame rebuffing. Major repairs such as welding jobs, and spring hinge replacements for example, are also offered, however they are not done in store and will require a few more days.

Yes, you do. By law, we cannot dispense contact lenses without a valid prescription (from an optometrist or ophthalmologist). Your contact lens prescription is different from your spectacles one. You can book you appointment to organise this.
